This fleet of heritage engines are painted to reflect the color schemes of the 20 railroads that merged to form today’s Norfolk Southern. We used my customers favorite colors - green and yellow - to accent the image and kept the rest of the design fairly neutral to let the colors of the vibrant engines stand out.

After being accidentally jumped on by the family dog when it was taken down in the midst of a move this painting was in need of some major tlc. The canvas itself was torn in several places and due to its age and condition re-stretching it was not an option. The image meant the world to its owner though, having been a reminder of his hometown while he served overseas and then hanging in his home ever since. We chose to stitch the canvas to an acid free board, giving it support and getting it as flat as possible. The two-toned matting was actually my customer’s idea and I love the way we were able to use the line leading to Pittsburgh’s iconic Point State Park as a guide for the split. A shatterproof, UV resistant acrylic helps ensure the piece will continue to bring this family joy for many years.
